Item 2 Guide
Proper use of Item2s is critical to victory. However, starting an Item2 war is not the path towards salvation. Use only when necessary.
Item2s come in various shapes and sizes, ranging from soft Item2s such as Dwarf Mobile, Moon Pass, and Magic Box, to hard Item2s such as Nuke, Lava, and Giant. Some items can only be purchased using Cash, and others using Gold from the game.
There is a counter to every counter, in terms of Item2s. If your opponents uses an Item2 there is always a way around the situation, no matter which item they have used. So using any Item2 to gain a significant advantage over others will result in retaliation. There are of course, users who use nuclear weapons at the first sign of item use. Players of those caliber are looking for an excuse to show their discontent of others.
Gold Item2s
Gold Item2s are recommended and encouraged to use for more a fun and enjoyable experience. A high popularity rating through enchanted avatar is helpful for accumulating Gold Item2s.
Caterpillar
Allows your mobile to be equipped with tank tracks. Caterpillar should be used on the thin edges of Metamine on the first turn to prevent the opponent from bunging your mobile in a single turn. Use Caterpillar also when Lava Shock is present on you, so that on the next turn you will be able to Jet up. First use Caterpillar then press F8. You will be able to avoid Thunder as well because of the increased mobility.
One set of Caterpillar has just enough power to rise above Thunder Clouds. When a large hole is present, using Caterpillar + Dwarf Mobile can help climb a cliff with breathtaking results.
Delay2-1
Delay2-1 is fairly useful, and most widely used on bots with notably slow S2 delay, not limited to, but including Grub, A. Sate, Bigfoot, and Turtle. Delay2-1 works well also with pure attack bots such as Boomer and Tiburon.
Cash Item2s
Jet Pack
Jet Pack will be one of the most useful and indispensible of the Item2s, because it becomes a strong counter towards powerful Item2s. Jet also can be used to hide behind cliffs, while hovering below your opponent, although such usage is rarely seen. Jet can also be used to raise your mobile just a centimeter above the surface and use a normal 0 Angle Tiburon S1 attack to discourage bunging of the land underneath.
Jet should be used in conjunction with Caterpillar and / or Invisibility for maximum effects. Ample use of Jet + Caterpillar can result in high lifts in elevation. Jet + Invisibility will allow the user to be undetectable.
Defense
Also as known as the bubble, Defense allows invulnerability to normal attacks for 1 assault. Lightning attacks will still hit because the nature of Lightning is is piercing. Defense is easily countered by Poison Gas. A good counter to the cat Leo, Defense allows the player to become invulnerable for 1 turn. Defense + Dual would be nice to use as a surprise.
Vampire
Drains life from the opponent. Useful in Server 6 when you need more life. Useful when used in conjunction with the Blood item (reduce 8% Life while gaining it back). Vampire works nice to steal health from teammates with strong life too. To execute this, simply fire at a group of friendly and hostile targets using Tiburon S1 and you will heal a lot of life.
Moon Pass
A rarely used but most useful when a Tornado or a Mystery Force is present. Don't use Moon Pass when there is a Mirror. Use F8 to decrease delay in event of Mirror. If the opponent has Xena, don't be shy to use this item. Don't waste delay guessing which Force will activate on Mystery. Just Moon Pass.
Dual Thor
Fires two Thors instead of one at Level 2 power. Use this Item when there are other items present, or if you need to do large amounts of damage quickly. Dual Thor is an armor-piercing attack, and can be used to trim the shielding of a Tiburon mobile. Dual Thor is most useful on bots with large number of projectiles, such as Bigfoot (S2), Grub, Boomer, and A. Sate for massive 1000-2000 damage easily with Dual. Also useful with Turtle and Tiburon.
Dwarf Mobile
Turns your character into mini-mobile mode. Makes yourself a smaller target, not only avoiding direct attacks but making yourself harder to bunge. Dwarf Mobile has many uses. The first use is when the opponent uses Giantism. Then use Dwarf to hide inside or underneath them and cut them up from inside. The second use is to reduce your own bunge size in order to kill an opponent without killing yourself.
Dwarf also seems to increase the defense of your mobile, and thus can be used nicely with Invisibility. Unfortunately, your damage is decreased slightly with the use of this item. Find ways to compensate and increase your damage using other Item2s so that you can defeat even the strongest of opponents.
Giantism
Makes you big. Everything will be bigger, including attack, bunge size, and defense. Giantism is especially useful on 1 v 2 / 1 v 3 situations. Giantism is also very useful in Server 6 if another player uses Giant. Your angle will change when your mobile becomes larger so you will not be able to hit lower targets easily with Tiburon. Giantism cannot be used together with Dwarf Mobile, although the statistical effects are not confirmed.
Lockdown / Unlock
Don't even bother using this item, unless you use Team Lockdown. Useful if you anticipate 2 Nukes or 2 Lavas on the next turn. Unlocking, however, is completely useless, since the other player can just use Super Dual.
Frozen Angle / Reverse Gage
Useful for disabling an opponent. Frozen Angle should be the mainstay of players with the Malamute pet, since it allows a user to gain access to both Malamute and Shih Tzu skills. Reverse Gage is also useful in dire circumstances, when the opponent is on the verge of wiping out your team. Place Reverse Gage on the player with the lowest delay.
Crazy Wind
Changes the wind power and direction while making the true wind factor hidden. Gunbound is a shooting game that rewards the most skilled players. Use Crazy Wind to discourage players of lesser ability. Use when there is a change in Wind so that beginners will be unable to do high angle (or any angle at all, for that matter) shots.
Pet Skill Act
An interesting Item2, allows a player to activate a random pet skill on the players turn. Can be used with Observador for Triple Damage. Useful with the pet Malamute because Force of Nature will activate, increasing damage. If you have Shih Tzu, using Pet Skill Act will activate Telepathy Ability, allowing teammates to gain Dual. Also allows an near-infinite amount of turns, causing the game to disconnect and result in a loss.
Homing Missle - Missile
Fires an homing missile at a target. Most useful for tracing shots on where your next shot will be. Also, the Cash version of the item does damage that is very decent.
Poison Gas - Bomb
Poison Gas = Lava Shock without the Bunge. Use Gas when you don't want to destroy the land underneath. This item should not be even called Poison Gas, and should be called in more friendly terms, Area Damage Effect.
One of the most underrated of bombs, Poison Gas can also become the best Item2 of all. There is no way to attack an opponent when he or she respawns, besides bunging the land underneath them, so a good way to use this item is to gas where they will land. Gas should be used when the opponent has very high delay. The damage will be taken over time and maximized after 2-3 turns.
Thunder Storm - Bomb
Thunder Storm should be used to prevent inexperienced opponents from escaping. Also useful for increasing damage if successive Thunder Storms are used. Thunder seems to be very useful for the bot Grub because Grub requires the right hole size. Use Thunder before you Lava, not after.
Not surprisingly, Thunder creates nice results with Jindo dog's thunder effect, since it digs a perfect hole that the opponent cannot escape from. Dual + Thunder might be a very practical use.
Lava Shock - Bomb
Lava Shock represents the mainstay Item2 of Wind Fire Ocean Guild and should be used whenever possible, since Lava represents the intensity of fire and passion of the battle. Lava is an interesting item, hitting Lava accurately (and hitting a group of opponents) can result in losing the game whereas a poorly-placed Lava can have devastating results, ironically. Lava + Gas, Thunder produces nice effects.
Note that Lava Shock clears more land than the Nuclear bomb over time. Using Dual with Lava is completely unnecessary.
Nuclear Weapon - Bomb
Remember the Non-Nuclear Proliferation Treaty (NPT) before you use this item. Only the Guild Master has access to this weapon, although members can be allowed to used in permissible circumstances.
